What documents do I need for travel to and from Sweden?
On Stena Line’s routes to and from the continent
On the routes between Germany & Sweden, Poland & Sweden, Latvia & Sweden and Germany & Latvia, a valid passport with MRZ code is required. This applies to all travellers, including children.
On Stena Line's routes between the Nordic countries
On the routes between Denmark & Sweden a valid passport with MRZ code is required. This applies to all travellers but children aged under 16 years travelling with parent/parents are an exception and can travel on their parents' IDs.
The passport must be presented at check-in. If you do not have a valid passport you will not be permitted to travel.
The above rules are Stena Line's general rules for travelling with our ferries to and from Sweden. It is the traveller's obligation to check what type of documentation is required to enter the country he or she is travelling to prior to travelling.
