Sail & Rail to Britain with Stena Line

Several strikes have been announced in public transport in Great Britain and the Netherlands. This may affect your journey to and from our ports. On the days following a strike, the timetable will start later than usual. Please check your route on www.nationalrail.co.uk and/or www.9292.nl before travelling. Please note that it is no longer possible to make new Ferry & Train bookings for the dates in question and existing bookings can be changed to alternative dates.

Please note, dogs cannot be accommodated on the Rail Link coach between Cairnryan and Ayr. However officially registered guide, hearing or assistance dogs will be able to travel on the coach with their owners free of charge.

Picking up a Sail & Rail ticket from Dublin, Rosslare or Belfast ports?

If your journey is starting from Dublin, Rosslare or Belfast Ports and you need to pick up your rail ticket before departure, then please call us on 01 907 5388 to make your booking by phone. Unfortunately it is not possible to pick up a ticket at these ports if you book it on any third party website or vendor.

Rail travel is subject to the relevant terms and conditions of the particular railway undertaking and where appropriate, the provisions of the Convention concerning the International Carriage by Rail (Cotif) of 9 May 1998 including the Uniform Regulations concerning the contract of International Rail passenger and Luggage Traffic (CIV) contained in Appendix A of the Convention. Rail Link Bus between Cairnryan and Ayr return

Rail journeys commence or terminate at Ayr rail station and a dedicated Rail Link coach service will transport you direct to or from Loch Ryan Port.

The through Rail & Sail ticket includes the cost of the coach. Dogs or pets cannot be accommodated onboard the Rail Link coach however officially registered guide, hearing or assistance dogs will be able to travel on the coach with their owners free of charge. For guests with particular needs the Rail Link coach can accommodate one guest who needs to remain in their wheelchair for the duration of the coach journey per departure. It is very important to make a reservation as early as possible but no less than 48 hours before the date of intended travel and specifically advise Stena Line of requirements

In the event that a reservation is made less than 48 hours in advance of travel, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate travel needs.
