Permanent Employees are entitled to 7 Travel Vouchers:

  • 6 are valid for use on any route on the Irish Sea/North Sea
  • 1 is only valid for use on Rosslare-Cherbourg as stand-by only

 

Temporary Employees are entitled to 3 Travel Vouchers valid for use on the Irish Sea/North Sea.

 

Important Entitlement Information:

  • One Travel Voucher can be used to book a free single or return journey for a car, the employee and up to four passengers OR a free single or return journey for the employee and up to four additional foot passengers.
  • The period of entitlement is from 1 January until 31 December each year.
  • Staff members are not entitled to earn or redeem Extra points.

Proof of identity will be validated at check-in.

 

I understand that any fraudulent use, which includes transfer of a concession to anyone outside of the relationships listed above, will result in my concessions being withdrawn and that I may be subject to disciplinary action.

COMPANY TRAVEL CONCESSIONS POLICY

 

1 Scope

This document applies to all employees of Stena Line Ltd, Stena Line Pte Ltd, Stena Line Irish Sea Ferries Ltd and other subsidiaries of Stena Line (UK) Ltd, referred to in this document as ‘Stena Line’ or ‘The Company’.

 

2 Eligibility

To be eligible for concessionary travel, employees must have been continuously employed by the Company for a minimum of three months.

 

3 Entitlement

3.1 The period of entitlement is from 1 January until the 31 December each year.

3.2 Travel Vouchers

3.2.1 Travel Vouchers entitle free return travel for the employee and:  one car and up to four passengers or  four foot passengers

3.2.2 Employees may transfer their Travel Vouchers to immediate family only:  their spouse/partner  dependent children  Father, Mother, Brother or Sister In order to allow one immediate family member to free return travel with:  one car and up to four passengers or  four foot passengers

3.3 Permanent Employees are entitled to seven Travel Vouchers:  
six are valid for use on any route on the Irish Sea / North Sea  
one is only valid for use on Rosslare-Cherbourg as stand-by only

3.4 Temporary Employees are entitled to three Travel Vouchers valid for use on the Irish Sea only.

3.5 Port Tax Tickets

3.5.1 On payment of appropriate taxes, an employee is entitled to purchase Port Tax Tickets on a stand-by basis for themselves and either:  one car and up to four passengers or up to four foot passengers

3.5.2 Port Tax Tickets are non-transferable. The employee must always travel.

 

4 Additional Information

4.1 Concessionary space is limited, subject to availability and at the discretion of the Trade Management Team.

4.2 Fare paying passengers will always be given priority.

4.3 Caravans, campervans, transit vans and trailers are permitted.

4.4 Concessionary travel must not be used for commercial activities, or financial/personal gain. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that concessionary travel is not being used for this purpose, whether travelling or not. Anyone found in breach of this will have their concessionary benefits withdrawn and may also be subject to disciplinary action.

4.11 Concessionary rates for Cabins and Stena Plus are subject to availability and are at the discretion of the On Board Services Team.

4.12 Staff ID Cards (for employees) and photo identification (for family members) must be carried at all times whilst travelling.

4.13 Employees are responsible for ensuring that all their guests behave appropriately, whether the employee is travelling or not. Unacceptable behaviour from employees and/or their guests travelling on a concessionary ticket will result in concessionary benefits being withdrawn and may also be subject to disciplinary action.

4.15 Anyone found to be abusing the Concessionary Travel Scheme or in breach of the Concessionary Travel Scheme will have their concessionary benefits withdrawn and may also be subject to disciplinary action.
