Christmas Ferries Bring Festive Cheer

As thousands of people face despair and disappointment with continued flight cancellations and delays in the run-up to the festive season, Stena Line has revealed it has experienced a substantial increase in passengers travelling on its Irish Sea routes in the last few days alone, and is reminding people that there is still availability between now and Christmas.

Stena Line Communications Manager Eamonn Hewitt said, “From December 20 to January 5 Stena Line will carry 108,000 passengers across our five Irish Sea routes – 45,000 of which will be on the Dublin Port to Holyhead and Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead routes and 16,000 on the Rosslare to Fishguard route.

“All our sailings are operating as scheduled and we have brought in extra staff to help accommodate the uplift in customers at this time. Sailings are continuing to book up fast, but we still have availability on most sailings, so our message to people needing to make travel arrangements is not to leave it until the last minute,” Eamonn continued.

“We recommend customers book through the website or our call centre rather than arrive at the port without a booking as they may face disappointment.”
